A Childhood in the Arena.

A Childhood in the Arena.

The circus jacket.

Stems from months of research. Being a sister to the Bachelor feather circus jacket.

A childhood in the arena, has more of the danish history than the original jacket. And more history in general.

The shape of the jacket became when sewing a circus sister for Mr. Yung Lean. He needed a more masculine silhouette with bigger shoulders. While hand sewing the ribbons on the jacket, I randomly fell upon an old picture, of the now, danish King Frederik. He was wearing a hussar jacket, with these amazing ribbons on the sleeves. Originally the sleeves on this exact jacket, didn't have any ribbons. But after a good nights sleep- I tore them up and added the very cool danish kingdom reference.

With limited resources (I just graduated fashion school this summer, I'm broke), there's a handmade neck label consisting of pearls, in the neck. Being broke, really brings creativity.

It's a heart project, made with pure love, everything hand stitched and sewn together by myself. Every pattern piece for the jacket is thought of and made with love. The jacket has double shoulder padding, creating a very masculine and sharp silhouette.

Please note that this is a made to order piece.

Material information.

Celine bought my material in Copenhagen - but I am probably, originally, from another country that unfortunately is unknown. My material blend is also a bit unknown. I know that I'm made of Wool, but not entirely sure if I have a blend of some kind. I am really nice tho and I've been told that I don't scratch.

Care instructions.

Since I'm quite special, my mom says that I can't go into a washing machine - that it's simply too dangerous!

Therefore, I prefer to go to the dry cleaners, or getting a hand wash at home in the sink.

Since I'm handmade and each pearl is hand sewn on me - I should probably not get a shower at all - but mistakes happen and I can take a damp cloth. Just be aware that I'm very fragile in a washing process.

Notes from my mommy.

A piece that is made more out of an urge to not being able to let go, than an urge to spend 17 hours handsewing ribbons. A need to make more and more, to play with materials, feathers and whatever dreams there might be. A one of a kind.
